Migration Review Tribunal

If your Work Visa has been refused, you may be able have the decision reviewed by the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT). The MRT is an independent body which has the jurisdiction to assess at your case and consider any new information which is put before it.

You may be able to apply for a review only if certain circumstances have arisen. These include where your Work Visa application has been refused by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection or where your Work Visa has been cancelled.

If the MRT has refused your visa application, you may be eligible to appeal to the Federal Magistrates Court or the Federal Court or request that the Minister for Immigration intervene in your case.

Federal Court of Australia

If the MRT has affirmed the refusal decision made by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, you may lodge an appeal to the Federal Magistrates Court or the Federal Court where a legal exists in the decision.

Ministerial Intervention

If the MRT has affirmed the refusal decision made by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, you may make a request to the Ministerial for Immigration to intervene personally in your case.
